I'm a pretty
private, semi-solitary person, so for me, it's a pretty
big deal to hang out with someone for two days & two
nights. It's an especially big deal if that person
is a stranger. On the other hand, these traveling
models are constantly finding themselves in strange cities,
meeting with strangers, and in some cases, taking their
clothes off for them -- the successful ones have well developed
social skills. It was so easy to be around
Tiana.
So, anyway,
I was happy to loan Tiana my guest room. But some
part of me wanted to do this: I wanted to photograph
Tiana as she got up in the morning. This was Saturday
morning, the day after our shoot. Tiana was so comfortable
having her picture taken that this was no big deal for her.

In the morning,
Tiana is cuddly, agreeable, and especially sweet.
But you can't hold her to anything she says until she gets
her morning coffee. |

For some folks,
a photograph of a nude woman is immediately "intimate".
I've been looking at nude women for quite a while now, and
having worked with experienced models, I guess I don't think
of the typical nude image as "intimate", in that
both the photographer & the model tend to keep quite
a bit of themselves to themselves.
So, I
search for something deeper. The "Getting
Started" setup (where the model starts in her street
cloths & removes them to start nude modeling) is one
way to get past the distance. And these rare "first
thing in the morning" images is another. I like
how comfortable & personal these pictures can be.
Tiana
is amazing, and I'm not just talking about her exceptional
face, figure, skin, etc. The real magic of Tiana is
how easily she can be so relaxed so that we can achieve
these "intimate" and "personal" images.
