This picture, above, is one of my favorites from this sitting. An artistic note: a lot of photographers use this kind of lighting set-up -- a large soft box positioned slightly in front & somewhat to the side of the model. This provides a nice soft light that is great on skin as clear as Justine's. But many photographers stop there -- instead, I chose to focus a second light on the background behind Justine's shaded side. This creates a silhouette along the shaded side & creates a bit of depth for the photograph. In my opinion, this is something that distinguishes beginning and intermediate studio photographers: the intermediate photographer creates depth in his/her photographs, and a simple way to do that is to light the background.

Justine was totally comfortable & relaxed during this sitting, and that always makes things easier. I give the model mini-breaks while I change film or make adjustments to the lighting -- when I was ready to continue, I always found Justine rolling around with my dog. You've no doubt noticed that Justine has a few body piercings. Take a closer look at Pierced Justine.
