So, I move around a bit first, while Ashley & Krisha continue to kiss & caress each other.  I snap this one real fast.  Yes, it's overexposed & off-centered.  But that's the process sometimes -- I jump in and make adjustments/corrections as I go along.

Models might describe my style during a sitting as languid & unhurried, but I don't think that's really true.  I'm constantly thinking:
  • Should I move in close or move further away?
  • Do I want the camera high or low?
  • Are there other angles or approaches I should try?
  • Is the exposure right -- should I adjust it?
  • What variations should I do for the composition?
  • How can I improve the setup?
  • Are the lights set correctly?
  • Should we continue or should we move on to something else?
  • Is this new or am I just repeating myself?
  • What time is it?  Do we have enough time for the rest of the ideas I want to try?
  • Am I giving the models the appropriate amount of direction & encouragement?
  • What's for dinner?

So, I might be moving slowly, but my brain is overclocked.

Ashley volunteers to change levels.  I forget whose idea that was, but it was a good idea.

I like that this was a full-contact sitting.  I like that both models have committed to the concept.  The kisses were real; their enjoyment was real.

That eye contact is a little weird, isn't it?

It's funny.  When photographing a model by herself, I much prefer eye contact.  Nude photography is typically intimate, and eye contact enhances that feeling of intimacy.  Without eye contact, I tend to feel less like a participant and more like a voyeur.

But for these kinds of sittings, I think I prefer to be a voyeur.  I prefer that the models focus on each other.

But there are no rules.  We can try everything.

Like I said earlier -- I'm always thinking:  near-far, wide-tele, etc.  I like the composition of this wide angle variation; I like how the diagonals frame the models.

Actually, moving Ashley behind Krisha was my idea.  It's a solution to a challenge:  when the two models face each other, at best you can see half of each model's face.  With Krisha leaning back against Ashley, there will be opportunities to see both models' faces, and the impact of Ashley's hands on Krisha's body will be greater.

Whatcha think?

I can tell I really liked these images, because I made a lot of exposures this way.  (Patron's can see more in the Out Takes galleries).

I like the bronze tonality.  I like the hands.  I like the expressions on the models' faces.

Case in point, this image:  with Ashley & Krisha both facing towards the camera, we can see their faces, and I like seeing their faces.  Ashley's hands caress, while Krisha's right hand encourages.  This is a favorite image.

I've done a handful of these two model erotic-themed sittings.

The worst ones are when the models are posing for the camera, faking the action only for the second that they think the camera is ready to record the next image.

The better ones are when the models focus on each other and get lost in the moment.  They almost forget that there is a camera around.

The best ones are when the models get lost totally, when the action continues regardless of the readiness of the camera.

You tell me -- is this one of the better ones?  One of the best ones?  It's pretty darn good, in any case.

Much as I loved the above images, Ashley's lovely face was often in shadow.  That's easily resolved:  I could change the lights (but I liked the lights) or I can ask Ashley to move the Krisha's other side.  See if you like the change.

I like the jog in Krisha's spine, and how she's touching Ashley just enough to keep encouraging her.

Like I said, I'm always thinking.  I know that I had two more setups that I wanted to try, and as much as I liked these last several images, I got the sense that I was just doing insignificant variations on the same image.  So, with regret, I ask the two to pause, so that we can move to the next setup.

This sitting continues with Close Quarters.
