I don't plan everything, but I do
plan a lot of things, especially for the first session with
a new-to-me model. To be frank, there's an awful lot
of things going on during a session, and a little planning
(for me, at least) is needed to prevent everything from
being overwhelming. With "new" models, I
really don't have much of an idea about what to expect.
Sure, as the photographer, it's my job to set the tone &
objectives of the session, but you can't really predict
chemsitry. |
The pictures
on this web page were not planned. When I host a photo
session, I push all the furniture in the living room out
to the adjacent dining room to make room. The empty
living room is a good studio space.
Ashlyn &
I agreed to do some work in the bathroom, our next destination.
As we were walking there, I noticed that the light on the
living room couch was kinda nice, so we paused there for
some exposures. I live downtown, so it's kinda crowded
on the street. My neighbor to the north is about only
10 feet away, and bright sunlight was bouncing off of that
building through my large dining room windows. There
wasn't a lot of space for Ashlyn to pose in, but what there
was, was nice.

Ashlyn &
I made only a small number of exposures on the couch in
the dining room. After we both saw these images, I
think we both felt that we could have and should have worked
there some more.
There will be no Out Takes Gallery pages for
these images, but as you can see, some of Ashlyn's
poses are provocative; there will be some of
these images in
The Secret Galleries page from this session. |
So, kudos to
us for recognizing & taking advantage of a good opportunity.
Too bad we didn't rushed it a bit.
