One last setup to share.

This image, above, is my favorite from this sitting.  What do you think?

You may notice that I don't have that many pictures of a model's back.  It's not because I'm fixated on the other side or that I don't like backs -- I like backs a lot.  But during a sitting, I'm constantly talking with a model, besides giving the model direction or feedback, I like to carry on a conversation.  Since many of my photographs include the model's face, it's nice if she isn't giving the camera a blank or bored look, and a good conversation will help the model relax and will give the model an engaged expression on her face.

This can be my favorite back picture ever.

Look -- she doesn't have any clothes on!  It's funny -- this was our fourth or fifth sitting together, and I'm getting accustomed to seeing Leona without clothes wander around my house.  We stood together to repair the big soft box with a safety pin, we crowded into the shower together, we crawled around the floor.  Leona is incredibly natural and relaxed -- it's hard to believe that she's just started nude modeling.   (Click here to visit the site of Leona's "first photographer".)   There's a certain kind of casualness that develops, and frankly, I sometimes forget that she's nude.  With a new model, I rarely try anything unusual, but with a model who has been around and who is becoming familiar, it's easier to relax & explore new concepts (like chocolate syrup & hula hoops).  I don't know why that is -- most models I know, especially the experienced ones, would find it fun & interesting to try the more unusual setups.

So, are you folks getting tired of seeing Leona?  I hope not -- there's more for us to do.  With any luck, Leona will be working with more photographers in 2003, and perhaps she'll pull together a web site of her own.  But in the meantime, I'm sure she'd love to hear your comments & feedback -- if you use the Contact Looknsee link, I'll be happy to forward your comments to her.

Final Assessment:  Between trips & Thanksgiving, I hadn't seen Leona for several weeks, and I have to admit that I was a bit nervous during this sitting.  And we tried a few too many concepts -- I was pretty exhausted by the end of the evening.  But we continue to improve, we try some concepts that didn't work, but then again, we tried some that worked well.  We continue to have enthusiasm for the projects we do together.

(Remember -- feedback is always appreciated)
