Get it?  Look -- I've photographed dozens of women, and I've gotten pretty comfortable during the sitting, but I have to admit that it's still a thrill to see a beautiful woman nude for the first time.  I was thinking about how to share this with you web site viewers, and I decided to ask Leona to disrobe for the camera.  Leona readily agreed, and I do believe that she enjoyed herself.  I like these pictures for several reasons:

  • Leona was a lot more relaxed during this second sitting.

  • Here's a good tip -- give models something to do with their hands; that's always a good thing.

  • I like the transition from "girl next door" to "nude goddess".

  • I like sequences of images.  I'm definitely going to have to figure out more sequences to make.

So, Leona wears glasses (or contacts).  I like her glasses, so we did a few more exposures with her wearing them.  They provide a little distraction from the overall image impact.

Okay, I was using my strobe lights for this sitting, and I don't think I did a great job with the exposure.  Usually in the studio setting, the strobe lights provided all the light for the image, but in this case, I was attempting to balance the strobe light with some significant ambient (window) light.  But there's a lot for me to like here -- after one sitting and a few other exchanges, Leona & I were a lot more comfortable with each other, and we both were certainly enjoying ourselves.  While it might not be high art, these images were certainly a lot of fun.

Note for future projects:  I'm going to have to think about doing some sequences -- these can be as little as three images or they can be a lot more.  (For those interested in studying the masters, check out the photography of Duane Michals).
