I hate to admit this, but despite being here for over a year, I haven't completely unpacked the upstairs yet.  I worked at getting the house set up when I arrived, but once I started back to work, I stopped unpacking.  Well, the good news is that I'm getting laid off, so hopefully, I'll get around to finishing up all that unpacking.  Someday.

But in the meantime, there are a couple of places up in my office that made some interesting situations for photography.  One is a spotlight that sweeps a spot of the wall that is painted dark green -- there is no art work there yet, so I asked Leona to occupy the spotlight.  We pushed the moving boxes out of the way for these exposures.

This upstairs office is actually a finished attic, with slanted walls that follow the roof line.  On the north side of the office is a little dormer with a little window, and the space created by this dormer is of an interesting shape.  I asked Leona to sit in this space, so that we could use the dormer window light for some exposures.

If your screen resolution is wide enough, the above two pictures are side by side.  I wanted to show the effect of adding a reflector opposite the window (in the second picture, on the right).

Assessment:  I enjoy using different lighting set-ups for Leona -- she looks great in all of them!  I am noticing, however, that I continue to have focusing challenges, due to the large aperture I'm using.  In addition, I like how Leona looked in the spotlight, even though we had to use somewhat unnatural positions to light her face.  Because of these pictures, I'm thinking that I'll have to find a studio & break out my strobe lighting equipments for some future sitting with Leona.
