As you might be able to tell from the previous sittings in my Oregon home, I like to finish a sitting in my living room.  Usually, the late afternoon light there is great, especially big, comfy chair.  But Leona & I had started our session early, and the light in the room wasn't optimal.  So, we started with some more torso work in a little niche (and with artificial light augmenting the ambient light).

In order to give Leona something to do with her hands, we grabbed a chenille throw & did some semi-reclining pictures.

This picture above is another of our favorites.  I had asked Leona to cover her breast, and I liked how it looks -- so, here's a close-up of the same picture:

Well, after that, we had to visit my favorite comfy chair.

Once we get started, a sitting with me lasts about three hours, and typically the only thing I want to accomplish when working with a model for the first time is to get acquainted.  By the end of the sitting, I was certainly tired, but I had had a great time with Leona, and she certainly seemed happy with the sitting, too.  As a beginning model, she is very interested in seeing & obtaining prints, and I'm glad we found some good exposures from this sitting, despite having less than optimal light.

In a way, I think I'm very demanding of models who pose for me.  I am highly interested in the person & I want to try to record something of that person in these pictures.  Where other photographers record the figure, I try to record the heart.  To be honest, some models, including some very experienced ones, aren't too comfortable with this style of photography, but Leona was a natural at it.  To me, a model is a participant in the artistic process, and as such, I want them to partake in the results -- I am happy to share prints with models, so things worked out well for both of us.  On top of all that, I just think that Leona is an impressive person -- not only is she highly attractive, she is very sweet, pleasant, and mature.

If you study my web site, you'll know that I like to find & work with a small number of models -- I'm hoping that Leona & I can collaborate together again soon & often.  Leona is the kind of model that makes me want to be a better photographer.  Leona is also a beginner when it comes to modeling, and I hope that together we can add great & positive experiences for her (and for me).
