Kira In Leather

A local leather goods manufacturer, Spartacus Leathers, saw this web site & liked much of my work, especially the fetish photography. They asked if they could use some of my photography for their catalog, their web site, and their trade shows. I was open to the idea, especially since they wanted to leave all creative work to me. A couple of weeks ago, they dropped off a small trunk full of leather lingerie & bondage gear.

I haven't done any bondage photography in a while, but with access to tons of products, I think I'm going to do some.

I had already set up a sitting with Kira when all this happened. When I mentioned this to Kira, she surprised me by volunteering to do some light bondage photography.

We start easy -- I ask Kira to model some leather panties, with metal studs.

It's funny -- Kira was concerned that her "girl next door" looks wouldn't be appropriate for bondage photography -- she thought she would have to wear goth make-up. My thinking was quite the opposite.

I think that much of the bondage photography I've seen lacks a bit of dramatic context -- you don't get the sense of what is going on, what the relationships are, what the back story is, etc. (And much of the bondage photography I've seen lacks skilled production values -- good lighting, good composition, etc., but that's another story).

(We add a wicked collar & a leash).

Bondage photography is like music -- there are lots of genres, and I have got to admit that I don't appreciate all the genres myself. For example, although it is very popular, I don't particularly care for Country & Western music, but I do like The Blues.

With regards to bondage photography, I don't care for "pain" or "punishment" or "humiliation" -- the bondage photography I like is "submission". The fantasy is a beautiful woman who submits to my will. She is bound & awaiting my pleasure. I want to think about walking by & touching her anywhere I wish.

So, for my brand of bondage photography, the "girl next door" look is perfect.

An example of how sexy submission can be -- I order my slave girl to lower her panties, and she complies.

No, seriously, if I have a gorgeous woman in front of my camera & she is willing to be totally nude for me, who am I to cover her up? At best, I want women to be clothed only with shadows.

I just love Kira's proportions -- she is slim, flexible, all natural, graceful. She is just perfect.

I'm including this picture because it's sub-optimal, and I tend to find the mistakes more instructive than the successes. Can you see what bothers me? The leash that dangles between Kira's breasts disappears into the shadow. I hate when you lose details that are important.

Here's one that's better, with the leash extending away from Kira's torso.

Below are two of my favorites, where I ask Kira to cover herself using this setup. There is no doubt that Kira is nude, but her "nasty bits" are covered, and somehow that is more exciting.

I definitely like this covered look. There is definitely something very erotic about seeing the underside of a woman's breast.

One last leather picture for this page -- among the products left to me by the folks at Spartacus Leathers where a variety of floggers & slappers. I ask Kira to hold the red heart shaped one over her breast, and the color just popped.

Bondage photography really isn't Kira's "thing", but she did incredibly well with the stuff we undertook.

I should also mention that during Kira's first sitting, she was having a bad day, but for this second sitting, she was a total dream. She is one of the most beautiful models I've had the pleasure to photograph, and on top of that, I like her a lot. We had great fun.

I should also note that I got the digital exposure calculated better -- the colors are rich & vibrant, and Kira looks terrific in that soft & lovely light. We'll come back to that shortly, but we go to the back stairs for some more photography.
